RHF Winter LAN Success
Posted by Blaze on March 09 - 11:15PM
The RHF Winter LAN went off without a hitch! Everything went smooth and turned out pretty good! The location was awesome, the pizza was good, Guitar Hero 2 was in full swing, and the CS play was just plain fun! It was a small turnout but with the location and the setup being nice and easy with no major hiccups, I would say the LAN was a big success.

I want to thank everyone who came out, especially you NorCals for the long trip it was great seeing you Radio and Ben. I would also like to thank Justice for aqcuiring the location for us! As far as finances goes we lost some money but thats okay, I will post the financial information from the LAN in the forums for the members to view soon!

RHF was able to unveil its first set of T-Shirts which most people seemed to like. We also have decided that everyone in the council, and those long term active RHF members who have not already received a shirt will be getting one compliments of RHF for all their hard work and support! Those who we would like to personally thank for all the help and support with RHF all these years and who will be getting a free T-Shirt include, I will mention this again in the forums as well, Draxis, Radioactive, Nickle, Khalil, Justice, Dremel, and Bear. Without you guys RHF would not have been able to keep going, nor would it have been near as fun!

Also the pictures have now been posted to the website be sure to check the photo gallery, there are more to be added when I finish collecting pictures from everyone, so if you have pictures please let me know at blaze@redhotfilament.net and I will get them from you and upload them. Also if anyone has any RHF pictures or information from the past please let us know as well, we will be doing an archives section and I would love to have everything together and on the site!

So in conclusion, the LAN went great! Shorty and Nickle won the 2v2 tournament. We skipped the 1v1 tournament as everyone was getting pretty tired at that point. The Guitar Hero gaming was a blast, though nobody would play against myself, or Shandryl and myself! We had a great time and we are really looking forward to the summer LAN. I will be posting shortly in the forums about future LAN's and what everyone would like to see so give us your feedback, and make sure to bring your friends next time! Thanks everyone for making the LAN a great time for all!

Coming Along
Posted by Draxis on November 01 - 01:11PM
Things here on the website coming along at a slow but steady pace.  I've finally had some time the last few days to focus on working on the site a bit and fixing a few things.  You may notice the site is running a new theme.  Hopefully this one will be a bit quicker and better fits the color scheme we're going for.  You may also notice the half-assed logo.  Well... that's cause we need a new one.  I'm not much a graphic designer, so if you'd like to help out and design a logo for the site, send me a PM and I'll give you all the details about what type of image we need.  We've also removed all registration other than the site registration.  For now, we're just going to be a community website.  There's no clan and/or teams to sign up for.  If you want to be part of the community, just register on the site and you're in.  It's that easy.

Blaze has been pretty busy with real-life for a while, but he's in the process of planning a Winter LAN event in So-Cal to help get us all back together.  When the event is finalized, the information will be posted here.  There may be some discussion in the forums regrading people's availability prior to the event announcement so make sure you check there for any information and so you can get your say in.
Site Open
Posted by Draxis on August 10 - 11:32AM
The Red Hot Filament website is now open.  Registration has been turned on.  Even if you were registered on the old website, you will need to re-register on this new site as the database from the old site isn't being used here.  We've got all the forums going, so get registered and get posting!!  Let's get this community going again.
Quick Update
Posted by Draxis on March 27 - 03:15PM
The website is coming along slowly but surely.  Blaze and I continue to work on adding new features and content.  I'm not sure when we'll launch the site yet, so keep checking back for updates and additional information.  I will be contacting some current RHF members so that I can get your user accounts setup in the next few days.  That way we can have a full membership roster and leadership structure in place prior to the launch of the site.
